Speaker: Dr. David M. Kaufman, M.D., University of Columbia

Topic: "Leading Patients on the Journey Toward Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Relief "

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1) Recognize IC when patients present with unresolved symptoms of mimicking conditions.
2) Assess an overview of treatment approaches for IC.
3) Perscribe treatment options for the relief of bladder pain or discomfort associated with IC.


Dr. Kaufman earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology at Columbia University.

Dr. Kaufman has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 1991, and is a member of the American Urological Association. He lectures across the nation to other physicians on new breakthroughs in urology and accurate diagnostic techniques, and has published articles about urological treatments in major magazines, including Self, Redbook, and Good Housekeeping.

Dr. Kaufman has received national media attention, and praise from colleagues for the development of therapies which are effective alternatives to surgery.
